Derivatives Trader

What you will do

As a Derivatives Trader at Geris, you will step into the dynamic world of futures, swaps and options with one goal in mind: to strategically use price movements in international dairy markets to our advantage. You continuously monitor the market, design strategies to manage risk and close impactful deals that strengthen our position in Europe while providing stability in an uncertain environment.

But your role goes far beyond hedging: you chase market opportunities. With your analytical skills and mathematical mindset, you quickly recognise patterns in price behaviour and turn them into smart trading strategies. You combine sharp market insight with a data driven approach, translating correlations and volatility into strategies that truly work. Within clear parameters you have maximum freedom, focused, disciplined and always looking for that edge. You read the market and trade with confidence.

You will work from our office in ’s-Hertogenbosch, as part of a close and ambitious team that is just as result oriented as you are. You are the link between commerce and finance, switching easily between numbers and people. You know how to explain complex information clearly and how to get colleagues and clients on board with your ideas.

You will report directly to the management team, keeping them informed about market developments, positions and strategic choices. With your communication flair, you bring numbers to life and build support for your vision both within the team and at management level.

Do you have the full package?

You are both analytical and social. You are a smooth communicator who can persuade others and explain complex topics in a clear and engaging way. You stay calm under pressure, have a commercial mindset and get energy from trading, numbers and a fast paced environment. You think quickly, act even faster and keep your cool in the heat of the moment. You are entrepreneurial, curious and know how to turn data into smart actions. You understand that trading is a top level sport: you play the long game, but seize every opportunity that comes your way. You feel the market, know your risks and know exactly when to act and when not to.
    • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Business Mathematics or Econometrics.
    • You have experience with financial markets or trading, or the drive to master it quickly.
    • Experience with hedging, risk management or commodity trading is a plus.
    • You are comfortable using Excel, Power BI and trading platforms.
    • You speak fluent Dutch and English. Any additional language is a plus.
    • Above all, you are eager to learn, ambitious and ready to win.
