What you'll be doing

As a Financial Controller at Geris, you’ll ensure a solid financial foundation while looking beyond the numbers. With sharp analyses, clear reports and smart improvements, you’ll help move our business forward. You’ll actively contribute to the direction of Geris and have plenty of freedom to take initiative, improve processes and make a real impact.

And you won't be doing it alone! Together with six ambitious colleagues, you’ll form the financial heart of Geris. A hands-on team that thrives on collaboration, taking ownership and thinking ahead. Hiding behind your screen all day? Definitely not! You’ll actively connect with other departments and turn financial data into business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

At Geris, Finance is about much more than just numbers. You’ll make sure our financial foundation is rock solid, while always keeping an eye on the future. Where are the opportunities? What could we do smarter? And how can we turn numbers into better decisions? You’ll provide the insights and help us move forward!

• Getting the numbers right: You’ll ensure accurate and reliable monthly and annual financial closings for the different companies within the Geris Food Group.
• Turning data into insights: You’ll develop smart reports and dashboards, analyse KPIs, costs, margins and financial results, and translate your findings into practical recommendations for management.
• Smarter, faster, better: You’ll identify opportunities to improve and automate financial processes and take the initiative to make those improvements happen.
• Keeping financial obligations under control: You’ll handle tax returns, and provide us with financial reports. 
• Making sure everything runs smoothly: You’ll prepare for and coordinate external audits, ensuring our financial administration is accurate and well-organised.
• Managing risks: You’ll manage and optimise our insurance portfolio and contribute to finding the right solutions for our organisation.

Do you have the full package?

You're a numbers enthusiast who knows how to turn data into clear reports that tell a meaningful story. Of course, we'll make sure you get off to a great start, but after that, you'll quickly take ownership and work independently and proactively.

Here's what else matters:

• A completed degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Economics. A completed RA (Chartered Accountant) or RC (Registered Controller) qualification is considered a plus.
• You have at least 3 years of relevant work experience, for example as a Financial Controller, Assistant Controller or within an accounting firm.
• You have strong analytical skills, recognise patterns and know how to turn complex financial data into clear insights.
• You look beyond your own financial administration, understand what's happening across the business and actively contribute ideas for improvement.
• You take initiative, aren't afraid to challenge the status quo and get energy from making things smarter and more efficient.
• You're a strong communicator, easily connect with colleagues at different levels and aren't afraid to stand your ground.
• And perhaps most importantly: you're ambitious, love getting things done and thrive in an organisation that's always on the move!
